Melissa Sandals Recommendations! How to Pick Sandals That Fit Your Foot Shape

Summer is here! It’s time to wear sandals and let your feet breathe. Plus, with the rainy weather, it’s much easier to clean and wipe wearing sandals. Melissa has released multiple styles of sandals made with patent material - Melflex®PVC. Not only are they fashionable, but also breathable, water-resistant and versatile for different occasions.

Choosing sandals is the same as choosing flats—pick styles that suit your foot shape, so that you can be pretty while feeling comfortable. In fact, Asian feet usually fall into one of these 3 types - “Egyptian Toe”, “Greek Toe” and “Roman Toe". There are different styles made for each of them. Be ready to take note of the following tips to free your feet for the summertime!

“Egyptian Toe”

The Egyptian toe is distinguished by a long big toe, followed by the other toes tapering at a 45-degree angle, which forms an inclined curve. Girls with Egyptian toe are advised to pick styles with a curved toe cap so that they can fit your toes more naturally.

“Greek Toe”

Greek Toe are often referred to as the “Beauty Foot”. This toe type is characterized by a protruding second toe, which is longer than the big toe, forming an inverted V-shape. This foot shape works well with many styles, including pointed-toe and almond-toe shoes.

“Roman Toe"

This particular toe shape is characterized by the first three toes being the same length, with the other two in descending order. Since the overall foot shape is wider, shoes with a wider toe cap are more ideal in order to avoid too much squishing and pressuring on the toes. Square-toe sandals are recommended.

Feet are more exposed when wearing sandals. So apart from the above 3 foot shapes, we also have to pay attention to the following foot features.  Hope the tips below can help you choose the most flattering shoes.

Slim Feet

You are blessed if your feet are slim and long because you can pretty much pull off all different styles of shoes, be it pointed-toe, lace-up, flats or heels. And sandals are made for you!

Thick Feet

Flip flops is the best choice for girls with meaty feet. Firstly, the V-straps on the instep can create an optical illusion to make your feet appear slimmer and smaller. Secondly, flip flops will not squeeze and pressure your feet. Mules that can fully cover instep are also your wardrobe essentials.

High-arch Feet

Ladies with a higher arch need to pay attention if sandals are too tight and press against your feet. Generally, styles that expose your instep are great looking and comfortable.
